Clinical Supervision
My goal is to provide LMSWs with a comprehensive, thoughtful, and practical supervision experience-not just a checklist for hours. Supervision with me emphasizes clinical skill, professional growth, and theoretical foundation, helping you develop the confidence and competence to provide high-quality care.
Who This Supervision Is (and Is Not) For?
This supervision may be a good fit if you:
Value depth, reflection, and clinical thinking
Want a supervisor with extensive real-work experience
Are building long-term competence, not just completing hours
This may not be the best fit if you are seeking:
The lowest-cost supervision option
Minimal engagement beyond required documentation
A purely administrative supervisory relationship
Getting Started
Supervision begins with a brief consultation to ensure mutual fit, discuss goals, and review licensing requirements. Fees, expectation, and structure are clearly outlined in a written supervision agreement prior to starting
Who provides Clinical Supervision?
John Carter, LCSW-S
I provide individual and group supervision for LMSWs pursuing clinical licensure. With 15 years of private practice experience across both Chicago and Dallas, my supervision is grounded in extensive clinical work, legal and ethical experience, and a deep understanding of theory and evidence-based practice.
Licensed in Texas, Illinois, and Tennessee, I bring a breadth of experience across multiple clinical setting and regulatory environments. Supervision is approached as a relational, reflective, and intellectually serious process-one that supports ethical practice, clinical confidence, and long-term professional identity.
